QUOTES ABOUT BEING HAPPY: "HAPPINESS QUOTATIONS"
Happiness is an inside job --William Arthur Ward
“If you observe a really happy man you will find him building a boat, writing a symphony, educating his son, growing double dahlias in his garden, or looking for dinosaur eggs in the Gobi desert. He will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that has rolled under the radiator. He will not be striving for it as a goal in itself. He will have become aware that he is happy in the course of living life twenty-four crowded hours of the day.” --W. Beran Wolfe
CULTIVATING HAPPINESS: HOW TO BE HAPPY AND JOYFUL
This is what I recommend for a happier and more joyful you: steps to happi-ness
1. Know yourself; find out what makes you tick. What was the picture you had painted, of happiness, as a child? Have a big goal that you are working towards. Recognize that you are not pursuing happiness, you are being happy already by doing something that you like and it is the sense of fulfillment, achievement and success that will leave you satisfied and happier. You are also likely to be richly rewarded.
2. Try to take pleasure in the small things: learning something new, trying out a new recipe, observing and being aware of nature at work, watching children play, playing with them.
3. You are unique and that is a wonderful thing; something to rejoice about. Cease comparing yourself with other people.
4. Have a deep sense of gratitude. Once you start counting your blessings and giving thanks for them, you will attract more blessings. Inner happiness comes from gratitude and thanksgiving.
“Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.”
~ Nathaniel Hawthorne
