"FEAR OF DEATH"
Fear of death quotation
“Our fear of death is but like a trembling shepherd who is called before his master, only to have his head blessed in honour.” -Kahlil Gibran
"Why do we fear death?"
Fear of death
Fear of death is experienced by most of us at least at some point in our lives. Fear is a natural reaction to threat, and danger. In the same way, fear of death is a natural reaction to this inevitable phenomenon that, at the face of it, we seem to have no way of escaping.
Human beings are control freaks – we plan our lives, prepare for eventualities and possible risks and then we attempt to put mechanisms in place to manage the risk, should it happen. But death is inevitable, we find ourselves helpless and frustrated that we could only do so much. Yes we take care of our health and avoid dangerous and potentially fatal situations. But every funeral we attend; every person death takes away, we are humbly yet terribly reminded of our unquestionable, “undying” fate. Worry not, for there is hope, and there is comfort.
Do you have irrational, constant fear of death? There's hope for you
It is okay to think of death and to be a bit worried about dying and the “unknown”. However, Constant worry about death – that affects the way we live our lives, is neither okay nor normal.
There is a lot of comfort in religion and spirituality. For instance, as a Christian, I believe in eternal life. That there is a better life waiting for me after death. If you have faith, you won’t have irrational fear of death.
